Ovoid bowl, blue & turquoise glazes outside, approx. 8.5" length

i use the term "ovoid bowl” to describe bowls like this one that are slightly different from straight up thrown pottery. That said, the process is not complicated and has been used by potters throughout the ages. To begin, I throw a closed form, something that often resembles a large egg after it is trimmed. I then turn this egg-like form on its side, and carefully cut it along its mid-section. This results in 2 ovoid bowls, and depending on the shape of the initial closed form, the ovoid bowls are shallow or deep and more or less oval in shape.

This ovoid bowl has the combo of satin white inside with blue & turq. glazes on the outside.
