Large ovoid vase, wood-fired at Pincus Pottery Studio (Skyline Kiln) in April 2021. Approx. 9" ht.x 10” w.

This ovoid vase is another in my series of ovoid forms that includes both vases and bowls. By “ovoid” I refer to pottery thrown on the wheel as a closed egg-form, which is then trimmed, turned on its side and cut to create the bowl or vase.

It was loaded into the kiln laying on its side, with applied Shino & matt-white glazes, and sea shell marks showing where it sat in the kiln.
